Can't Decide What Plan to Offer Your Client?

Hi all,

Welcome to the HCC Health Care Forum. Since many of you have expressed concerns about Twitter, and how its complexities aren’t working for you, we wanted to try and still create an avenue for you to communicate with each other. Hopefully this blog will give you an outlet to express opinions, aid HCC in the creation of marketing materials, and keep you informed about all things Health Care.

I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. Meghan Neville, Senior Member Service Specialist in Northampton requested that I create a worksheet to possibly help MSSs figure out what plans to offer their clients. Together we decided a quiz worksheet asking clients key questions, and rating them would be an insightful way to decide what plans to offer. Much like a Cosmo magazine quiz, we want to be able to drill down what is important to our clients and categorize them into plans that will satisfy their needs.

Our hope is to have questions such as:

What is the highest deductible you are comfortable with?

A: $500
B: $750
C: $2,500
D: $5,000
E: $25,000

How important to you is it to have co-pays for office visits before the deductible?

A: Very important
B: It would be nice
C: It’s only mildly important
D: Not important at all

The worksheet will lead to a rating score at the end that will signify what plans your client would be most likely be comfortable and happy in.

This is where you come in… I would love your insight on questions you ask your clients when deciding what plans to show them? I will compile the best questions together into a resourceful sheet you all can use to help identify plan options for your customers.

Please comment below leaving the types of questions you would ask! To comment click on the image of a pencil.

Thanks for your help.

I always like to ask what their past deductible and co-pays were. Try and see what type of benefits there are use to.

I like to know if they are taking prescriptions and where they buy them at. A lot of times they are generic and they purchase their Rx at Walmart and they fall under the list of generics that Walmart offers for $3.99 or $9.99 per quarter. With that said they might like a policy that is an HSA.

What a wonderful idea!! It is confusing with the old products and the new. For now i quote the Premier, SmartSense, and HealthSmart w/Enhanced Drug. I would like to come up with a simple spread sheet that compares these three products side by side. I tell myself i'll work on it at home but just don't find the time there either. I haven't even looked or ordered the new supplies for the Med Supps.

What is your budget? This way I can be sure and only show them what they can afford. There is no since is showing them something that is way out of their price range.
